| Typically, the search project will progress through four distinct
phases: |
- Prepare Search Project Plan
- Research and Identify Candidates
- Interview and Evaluate Candidates
- Process and Place the Selected Candidate
|
| Our experience is that a well-designed search project should be
successfully completed in fourteen to sixteen weeks. Time is money
and speed is a function of quality planning. We invest the consultant
time up front to ensure the success of the project. |
| |
| PREPARE CUSTOM SEARCH
PROJECT PLAN |
| We meet with the hiring team and other members of the client's
management to gain a clear understanding of the organization's needs
and expectations. We must know the situation completely so that
we can present the opportunity accurately and convincingly to prospective
candidates. After our in-depth analysis of the desired candidate's
duties, reporting and working relationships and individual responsibilities
we prepare a Search Project Plan which describes: |
- The Organization
- The Position
- The Ideal Candidate's Credentials
- Factors to Evaluate Potential Candidates
- Search Strategy and Targets
- Description of the Search Process
- Search Project Timetable
|
| We present the completed Search Plan for client approval to verify
our mutual understanding of the assignment. |
| |
| RESEARCH AND IDENTIFY
CANDIDATES |
| After The Ford Group is retained, we initiate the following steps
to research potential candidates for the position. First, search
The Ford Group Data Base and contact potential sources or candidates
by phone, fax or e-mail. Second, identify and electronically contact
appropriate interest and discussion groups on the Internet. Third,
conduct original research from public data bases. Using the information
gathered above and the knowledge obtained during the preparation
of the Search Plan, we then develop a Search Project Target List
which focuses on specific individuals, organizations and industries
for the position. We call each potential candidate and carefully
choose only those who have what it takes to succeed in the client's
organization. Then, we prepare extensive background profiles on
the potential candidates best suited to the position and review
each one with the client hiring team. |
| |
| INTERVIEW AND EVALUATE
CANDIDATES |
| We conduct intensive personal interviews with those potential
candidates to determine their specific accomplishments and capabilities.
We carefully assess every strength and weakness and match it against
the evaluation criteria detailed in the Search Project Plan. After
conducting reference checks and verifying education and work experience,
we develop a priority list of candidates for the client to meet
and interview. |
| |
| PROCESS AND PLACE SELECTED
CANDIDATES |
| We prepare a detailed Candidate Evaluation Package on each final
candidate. We will assist the client in the formal evaluation of
the finalists and the selection of the executive best suited to
meet client needs. We will assist the client and the successful
candidate with any final negotiations on compensation, relocation,
termination of current employment, etc. Finally, we communicate
the successful completion of the search to sources, references and
other candidates, and follow-up with the client and its new executive
to ensure a productive, long-term relationship. |
